What:

Taksi is a fruit-flavoured drink produced by Friesland Campina that contains fruit juice, milk permeate and vitamin c.

Why:

The Taksi website doesn’t give much away in relation to the history of the drink but based on this advertisement from the 1980’s, I’d say Taksi has been around for awhile.

Where:

You can find Taksi in the non-refrigerated fruit drinks aisle, near the carbonated beverages or mixed in amongst the iced tea at the supermarket. The drink comes in 1.5 litre cartons and lunchbox size cartons (multi-packs). You can also find Taksi at many public attractions such as the zoo. Strangely, the carton you find when out and about is more round in shape than the multi-pack cartons you buy at the shop.

When:

Taksi is available all year-round. It excels at being a summer drink and the orange flavour, in my opinion, is extra nice when you have a cold or the flu.

Varieties:

Taksi is currently available in the flavours Forest Fruit (Bosvruchten), Tropical Fruit (Tropisch Fruit), Orange (Sinaasappel) and Tropical Fruit without added sugar (Tropisch Fruit Geen Suiker Toegevoegd). In previous years other flavours existed including Jungle Green, Red Magic and Exotic Yellow.

How Much [Should I Drink]:

I personally really like the orange and tropical fruit Taksi. It isn’t something I drink everyday but if I am feeling under the weather, it tends to be the drink I crave. It also functions as a safe bet when faced with other not so appealing drink alternatives.

Pas Op! (Watch Out!):

Don’t forget to follow the instructions on the top of the package, schudden voor gebruik – shake before use.
