The Pottery Arrives!
A little while back I wrote about my experience of visiting a pottery studio and making my first piece of pottery using a potter’s wheel. This was one of the items on my 101 list and I had a great time. A few weeks ago, a box arrived at my door and inside was the two bowls that I had made, fully fired and glazed. I had picked the colours before leaving on the day and am really pleased with how they turned out. Kari had even put my name and the year on the bottom of each piece that I made. As promised, here are some photos of the two bowls that I...

One of the items on my 101 list is to try pottery. Back in elementary school we had the opportunity to make things with clay but this was more in the “here’s a lump of clay, now shape it into something” department rather than really learning anything about pottery or even getting to try a potter’s wheel. Now I must be honest and say that trying a potter’s wheel was not really a burning desire that I had but more something that I thought could be interesting and fun and when you are in the 80′s of your list, finding something fun and interesting is an...

Everyone needs a project. Ideally one that makes you jump out of bed in the morning and leaves you exhausted (in the good sense of the word) at the end of each day. That’s my motto. I love projects. From sending postcards via Postcrossing to creating a 101 list, I usually have at least five projects on the go and without them I easily get bored. So that probably explains why I have now fallen in love with the film Julie & Julia. For those of you who are not familiar with it, you can find the trailer and description below: The film depicts events in the life of...

I have lots of memories about starting puzzles when I was young but for some reason I have none about completing a puzzle. Perhaps this was because I never actually did complete a large-ish puzzle or perhaps this was because I just have no memory of doing so and this was something I wanted to remedy. In addition, when I was living in the UK I had asked for a puzzle board as a Christmas/Birthday present, as the cottage was too small to have a dinning room table in. I got the puzzle board (thanks mum!) and some puzzles but I don’t think I ever finished a puzzle there either. Completing a 1000...

Well obviously I have completed this task as you can see the full list here. However, as they say, always praise yourself for the achievements you have completed thus far. I actually thought that this would have been one of the easiest tasks on my list but it was actually pretty hard. Coming up with 101 things you want to do is not as easy as it sounds. If you don’t believe me why don’t you try...
Read MoreTasks Completed
The good news is that I have started to complete some of the tasks on my 101 list. I will be marking them off on the list as I complete things but will also try and keep this area updated with more specifics as I complete them. So here we go… No. 1: Complete 101 list Some of you may be thinking that this was too easy of a task to have on my 101 list, however for you doubting souls…I challenge you to make a 101 list. It is not as easy as it originally sounds and there does come a time (I found it happened around the 80 mark) when you start to run out of things to put on the list....
