Monday Madness: Introducing the Queen Beatrix Pizza

Posted by in Monday Madness

pizzaQueen Beatrix gets her own pizza. Woohoo!

At the World Pizza Day in Naples last week, seven new pizzas were presented. Each pizza is named after a royal highness.

The reason? The new pizzas were created in imitation of the famous pizza Margherita, which was conceived in 1889 and named after the wife of King Umberto I. All seven new pizzas have certified ingredients that come from the region of Naples.

The Beatrix pizza joins the Belgian Queen Paola pizza, as well as pizzas named after Kate Middleton (GB), Mary Elizabeth (Denmark), Victoria (Sweden), Charlotte Casiraghi Grimaldi (Monaco) and Carlo and Camilla of Borbone (Sicily).

  1. but what’s ON said pizza???

    • They didn’t say! I looked in several places and none of them said what exactly was on top. But I wondered the same thing. :)

  2. I think if you order one it should be delivered by the Queen

    • Now that really would make me order the pizza! They should put that as a unique selling point straight away!
