Yesterday I found out that, sadly, I had not won the Peter Greenberg Travel Contributor contest that I was a finalist in. Of course I was a bit disappointed but these things happen.
What impacted me even more about the competition is the number of people who did vote for me and the number of people who came forward and complimented me on my writing style. That was really touching.
Writing can sometimes be a thankless profession, so it is always nice to hear that people like what you are saying and how you are saying it. Therefore I want to say a big thank you to everyone who voted for me, who encouraged others to vote for me and who sent me a message to say they liked my writing. That meant a lot.
Plus, the Editor from the site also sent me a message to say they were very happy to receive pitches from me, so not all is lost!
Once again, thank you to everyone who voted for me. I hope I get the chance to help you out in return.
