Everyone needs a project. Ideally one that makes you jump out of bed in the morning and leaves you exhausted (in the good sense of the word) at the end of each day. That’s my motto.
I love projects. From sending postcards via Postcrossing to creating a 101 list, I usually have at least five projects on the go and without them I easily get bored.
So that probably explains why I have now fallen in love with the film Julie & Julia. For those of you who are not familiar with it, you can find the trailer and description below:
The film depicts events in the life of chef Julia Child in the early years in her culinary career, contrasting her life with Julie Powell, who aspires to cook all 524 recipes from Child’s cookbook during a single year, a challenge she described on her popular blog that would make her a published author.
Apart from the general storyline and excellent performance by Meryl Streep, I loved the fact that both Julie and Julia had there very own projects (cooking and writing) that they are working on every day. It was perfect for my project loving personality.
So even if you are not typically a big fan of writing, cooking or even projects themselves, I highly recommend that you rent this film, watch it and let your imagination run riot. You just might find yourself with a sudden desire to start your very own project and if it’s a cooking one, make sure you invite me over for a few meals!
Off to pick which cookbook I want to work through…
